David Yurman to Open at NorthPark Center
DALLAS , Texas - August 15, 2005 -David Yurman will open its first store in north Texas and the sixth in the United States at NorthPark Center. When Yurman opens on December 8, 2005 at NorthPark, they will be the 24th store that has chosen the Center as either their only Texas or north Texas location. The renowned American jeweler's debut at NorthPark culminates the grand opening of phase one of the Center's expansion. Yurman joins Nordstrom
and 27 other stores as part of NorthPark's grand opening and holiday celebration.
Already an accomplished sculptor and Jeweler, David Yurman established the company and the brand in 1980. Yurman's non-traditional sterling silver and gemstone pieces were a revolution in the fine jewelry market and quickly stepped into the spotlight in fashion circles across the country. Not only are David Yurman's treasures unique, but they are also affordable, which gives the company access to people who purchase jewelry for themselves and
want pieces they can wear everyday, a previously untapped audience in the fine jewelry industry.
Literally a jewel for NorthPark, David Yurman complements the Center's growing collection of contemporary and luxury tenants. NorthPark's unique combination of fashion, art and style provides a distinct atmosphere that appeals to the David Yurman customer. Home to a leading collection of 20th Century art, NorthPark takes care to attend to all aesthetic aspects of the center. From meticulously landscaped walkways to perfectly polished floors, NorthPark embodies the classic and elegant shopping experience.
David Yurman currently has six other locations, including South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA; Bal Harbour Shops in Bal Harbour, FL; Lennox Square Mall in Atlanta, GA; The Galleria in Houston, TX; Americana Manhasset in Manhasset, NY and Madison Avenue in New York, NY.
The History of David Yurman
In 1982 Yurman introduced the design of the cable bracelet that has become his signature piece. Later, in 1994, Yurman launched the brand's first watch collection.
The first David Yurman store opened in 1999 on Madison Avenue in New
York. The men's jewelry division is now led by Yurman's son, Evan, who has brought more of an edge to the brand, adding materials like titanium to the mix. Yurman also creates one-of-a-kind couture and limited edition pieces, through which he expresses his artistic inspiration and individual style.
2005 continues to be a significant year for David Yurman including the introduction of special collections marking the 25 th anniversary of the company. Vivid memories of the designer's impact on the last quarter-century have been recognized during a year long commemoration of the history and success of the David Yurman brand, "25 Years of Classic American Design."
